I just put online the latest version of the script that I made last week to show on all Internet sites of the EV-K2-CNR data from the sensor located at South Col, on the slopes of Everest. The information is transferred every hour directly from the station scientific ABC Pyramid on our server and then revised in a more intelligible. I'm also making a version in Flash that show a larger amount of information even clearer There's graphic indicators. Stay tuned!

Chatting to 5000 meters

What we see is an image captured at over 5,000 meters of altitude! This is a frame of the movie that I recorded on Friday afternoon during the test transmission from the Italian scientific station ABC Pyramid, located at the foot of Mount Everest.

The hands are typing frantically those of the scientist Gianpietro cabbage: at that moment we were exchanging information to solve a problem with the audio transmission. The movie was shot with a capture device capable of operating at temperatures as prohibitive of 8000 and placed on a special helmet.

Ah ... what you see on the left is not - as you might think - a vulgar can of beer, but a sophisticated electronic device covered by military secret ... or not?

Ce have done. From today the new sensor to send weather information every hour to more valuable scientific research centers in the world. A project completely Italian very well conducted by a team of trained people and stubborn.

I have witnessed in the tests to confirm the correct transmission of data collected from the new weather station to South Col, at an altitude of 8000 meters: difficult to describe the explosion of joy of the crew, a chorus of loud applause and shouts that he joined the staff that ideally work here in Italy with members of the expedition that found on the slopes of Everest. Time needed the transmission of live images, and this time there is a small part of the work for me. Keep our fingers crossed!
