For those who make my own work is not yet clear whether the time has come to joy, despair or remain on watch in the hope that the intense pressure coming from below are in some way to take a step back to headquarters in Redmond. From today was officially removed from the market Windows XP, at least in its stand-alone version.
This event has two main consequences on the work of a consultant: more gains arising from forced migration to the "new" operating system and a huge increase in the volume of information from jatture face. Frankly, I have the feeling that the budget will be significantly disadvantageous, we'll see.
For the moment all my experience with Vista has been very negative. Often it is the same to my clients ask me a downgrade due to frequent blockades, incompatibility that before - with Windows XP - and had no associated costs due to updating of software professionals.
We are to see, then. It remains questionable in any case the attitude of Microsoft, which has decided to ignore beautifully demands of millions of customers who want to maintain a status quo achieved only after years of updates and Service Pack.
I am sure someone will let them try to convince Linux, finally ....
